Dual Immersion Digital Instruction: A Theoretical Model for Equitable and Inclusive Classrooms

Dual immersion programs have proven effective in achieving biliteracy for all students. However, maintaining equitable practices at the core of such has become more challenging remote learning due to pandemic. It is necessary, therefore, revise some benefits and challenges digital instruction mediated by technology these settings. Using a middle school Immersion (di) program Southern California as background, from perspective bilingual education teachers professors, this article presents theoretical model called Digital Instruction (di2) that could serve purpose. The includes five dimensions involved just, equitable, inclusive education: Technological, content, social, linguistic, pedagogical. also analyzes pedagogical opportunities di face regards each when becomes fully online.
